Comments: The Grant was named for Ulysses S. Grant, 18th president of the United States and general of the the Union forces during the Civil War.

Introduced, in 1933, the Grant was originally offered in a 10K yellow gold-filled Solidarity case and later in a 14K white gold-filled case.

It's interesting to note that Hamilton catalogs advertised the Grant as having a 14K gold-filled case, however very few were actually made in 14K gold-filled - 647 examples.   White gold-filled Grants are very rare as well with only 278 examples known to have been manufactured (277 in 14K white gold-filled and 1 in 10K white gold-filled).

The Grant was also made in sterling silver and was manufactured in only 3,200 examples.
