Comments: Cased in solid 18K gold, the Richmond (along with the platinum Rutledge), was Hamilton’s flagship gold watch at the time of its introduction and remained so until it was replaced by the 18K gold “Gordon” model.

The Richmond was the second 18K gold Hamilton men’s wristwatch offered and it was the first 18K gold model that was cataloged.  The first 18K gold offering was the Rectangular in 1928, however, it did not appear in any Hamilton catalog but was believed to have been sold through Tiffany & Co.

Priced at $135.00 in 1935, the Richmond was introduced as America's was struggling during the Great Depression and was significantly more expensive than Hamilton’s other solid gold models.  It apparently did not sell very well, as it is quite rare today.

The Richmond was offered in 18K yellow gold only.
